Ho‘ōla 2024 Conference - Health Equity: Real Talk. Real Stories. Real Solutions.

We anticipate 300 attendees from diverse sectors of our local community, and we are thrilled to have you share your knowledge, experience, and vision with them.

To facilitate your seamless participation, this webpage is designed to assist you in preparing for your presentation at the conference. Please review this page along with your accompanying Speaker Agreement thoroughly and provide the requested information by the deadlines specified below.

Important Deadlines

  • Speaker photo:

    Speakers are asked to submit/upload a high-resolution picture of themselves. This image will be displayed on the conference website and in the conference program.

    Biography (200 - 300 word count):

    Speakers are asked to submit a brief biography, which includes your name title, company, and a summary of your professional history. This information may be used in the conference program and website.

  • Conference Registration link: https://HoolaConference2024.eventbrite.com

    As a speaker, you will receive complimentary registration for both days of the conference. Please use the following code hpca2024speaker to have conference fees waived.

    Registration Instructions:

    1. Enter the speaker code and click “apply”

    2. Scroll down, and you should see an option for Conference Speakers

    3. Select that option, and the registration fee should be waived

    You also will receive a speaker badge, which allows you admission to all sessions available throughout the conference.

  • Each conference room will be equipped with the following:

    • LCD Projector

    • At least one projection screen

    • Laptop or other functional equivalent

    • Wireless remote to advance slides

    • Wireless microphone

    • Access to Wi-Fi

    Additionally, the Main Ballroom will have access to:

    • Lapel / lavalier microphone

    • Floor podium with wired microphone

  • Presentations are due: May 21, 2024 | Continuing Education Sessions - draft due: May 3, 2024

    Your presentation materials may be distributed to attendees via the event website after the conference.

    Please use the following format guidelines when preparing your slides:

    • Presentations in either PowerPoint (4:3 aspect ratio) or PDF Format.

    • The number of slides that you include should be based on the allotted time with a 10-minute Q&A at the end of each session.

    • Keep slides simple. Too much information on the slides makes it difficult for attendees to read/see.

    • Ko‘olau Ballrooms has a lot of natural lighting, please refrain from using light colors when creating your presentations.

    Where to send your materials:

    Please upload an electronic copy of the presentation to the Presentation Folder before May 21, 2024.

    Day of the Presentation:

    All presentations will be preloaded onto conference laptops or functional equivalents the week before your presentation. Should you need to update your presentation due to changes made after submission to us, please notify conference@hawaipca.net.

  • Speaker Travel Information:

    • The speaking fee is inclusive of airfare, travel, and transportation to and from the conference venue.

    • Group transportation will be made available from Ko’olau Ballrooms to Ilikai Hotel following the evening celebration at 8PM.

      Code for Mainland visitors: ADV

    Ride Share:

    Ko‘olau Ballrooms is a beautiful, yet isolated area outside of Honolulu. Please plan ahead if you are planning to use ride share apps like Uber or Lyft to take you from Ko‘olau Ballrooms to your hotel. It may take 30-45 minutes for your ride to arrive.

    Personal Transportation:

    If you have your own form of transportation and are driving from Honolulu, please allow 45 minutes to get to Ko‘olau Ballrooms.

    As a reminder, income is taxable for whoever you submit a W-9 for. Payment will be made to the organization/individual on the W-9.

  • If you received an email from our HPCA Conference team regarding CME/CEU’s, please provide the following additional information:

    CV/Resume: We kindly request you to send your CV/resume to conference@hawaiipca.net, no later than 3/29/2024. Your prompt cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated, as it will enable us to proceed with the accreditation process in a timely manner.
